Alan Lai

Founder, ProbateClear · Founder & CEO, Winsighter, LLC

Alan Lai is a builder working at the intersection of technology and business. He founded Winsighter, LLC and ProbateClear to address one of the most expensive and emotionally difficult administrative processes families face: California probate.

The motivation came from close to home. Helping his own aging parents navigate estate planning showed Alan how much information families have to absorb during periods of stress and grief — and how often the system asks them to make consequential decisions without clear guidance. Conversations with friends going through probate confirmed it wasn't a one-family problem. The gaps in the current legal system represented real opportunities to ease people's lives, if approached with the right structure and respect for the regulatory framework.

Alan brings together two complementary backgrounds to that work. He earned his BS in Computer Science and Engineering from UC Davis and his MBA from Cornell University. His career has spanned both sides of the technology–business intersection — Engineering Manager roles at Adobe and AWS where he built and scaled technical teams; Senior Manager of Business Transformation at Wipro Consulting where he led enterprise change initiatives; and Senior Engagement Manager roles across multiple startups where he helped early-stage companies find product-market fit.

ProbateClear is the most direct expression of his thesis that technology can take work that was traditionally expensive and human-intensive, and make it accessible without losing the human judgment that matters. By combining AI-powered document preparation with California-registered Legal Document Assistants who exercise professional judgment on every case, ProbateClear delivers court-ready filings at flat-fee prices — without the overhead of an attorney-led model. Winsighter, LLC operates ProbateClear and partners with experienced LDAs across California.

Alan lives near Sacramento with his wife and two children, with his parents nearby.

He also serves as a Trial LDA, process server, and e-filing court-runner, supporting self-represented clients through every procedural step. He brings an earlier career in IT and operations — including data-center operations at Zoom — that shows up as structure and precision on every case.

Ida prepares court-ready documents for individuals and families across California, working directly with clients so every form is correct, every filing meets court requirements, and every deadline is met. She brings more than fifteen years in legal operations to the work: as a lead paralegal and operations director across several California law firms, she managed family-law caseloads, built onboarding and training systems, and coordinated service of process and court filings. Ida earned her Juris Doctor from Whittier Law School. Detail, compliance, and disciplined follow-through are the heart of how she works.

A Certified Paralegal specializing in family law and civil litigation — and a Notary Public for 29 years — she provides mobile legal document preparation and notary services across Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties, and is a member of the California Association of Legal Document Assistants and the National Notary Association.
